Report Information

Observation Summary

We believe it was a wind slab avalanche.

The crown is visible in the photos and flushed down the couloir. We were just beginning to boot when it popped, unsure if we triggered it or if it was natural, but leaning toward natural as there was a quick storm and high winds the night before, and we were still more than 1000 ft below the crown on snow that appeared stable. No signs of warming or rollerballs before the slide + solid refreeze the night before.
